Ajmal Kamal translated the autobiography Chhangiya Rukh by Balbir Madhopuri in 2019. He has translated some books for Oxford University Press. Ajmal Kamal edits and
publishes "Aaj: an Urdu journal of world literature and ideas" since
1989, and "City: a journal of South Asian literature" since 2017. He
runs a small-scale publishing house City Press and its City Press Bookshop in
Karachi, Pakistan. He is currently enrolled at the South Asian University, New
Delhi, for his Ph.D. in Sociology.
